Progressive Counselling & Coaching
with Elizabeth Guest
Counselling and coaching for individuals, couples and professionals in Chester and online.
Sometimes life asks us to stop and really look at what is going on.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling with a decision, disconnected from yourself, or simply tired of carrying everything alone.
Often, people know something has to change, but fear, stress, anxiety and overwhelm keep them stuck.
Let’s TalkA different kind of conversation
When life feels painful, uncomfortable or simply miserable, it is time to begin turning things around.
Counselling helps you get to the root of a problem and coaching helps you take action towards a solution. When the two are combined, you are able to understand the issue, work through it and begin moving forward with your life again.
Together, we create the space to slow things down, listen more deeply and reconnect with what feels true.
Progressive Counselling & Coaching combines emotional depth with practical forward movement. There is space to explore the past and understand patterns, but also a focus on helping you move forward with greater awareness, honesty and self-understanding.
Individual Counselling & Coaching
You may look as though you are coping on the outside while inwardly feeling exhausted, anxious, lost or emotionally stuck.
Perhaps you:
- overthink everything
- struggle with boundaries
- feel disconnected from yourself
- keep repeating the same patterns
- feel emotionally overwhelmed
- want change but do not know where to begin
- feel your self-esteem is at rock bottom
- are struggling in relationships
- are facing difficult decisions
- are coping with illness or major life change
Being able to speak to someone in complete confidence, without judgement, is often the catalyst for change. Negative emotions can begin to lift, new perspectives emerge, and small adjustments can be made until, little by little, a new way of living starts to come into focus.
Progressive counselling and coaching aims to get to the root of problems so they no longer continue to hold you back.
The first session is intentionally longer to allow space to explore your current situation in greater depth and begin building a clear understanding of what is bringing you to counselling or coaching at this time.
This initial consultation also gives us the opportunity to explore your goals, history, current challenges and the kind of support that may be most helpful moving forward.
Ongoing sessions are approximately 55 minutes and are tailored to your individual needs and pace.
Initial consultation (90 minutes) — £100
Ongoing sessions (55 minutes) — £65
Couples Counselling & Coaching
Relationships can become painful when communication breaks down, resentment builds, or both people stop feeling heard.
Couples often come because they are:
- arguing more
- feeling distant or disconnected
- struggling after a betrayal or breach of trust
- stuck in painful repeating patterns
- needing to talk about intimacy or sex
- unsure whether to rebuild or separate
My role is not to take sides, but to help slow the conversation down enough for deeper understanding and honesty to emerge.
With progressive couples counselling and coaching, the focus is not only on what each person wants, but also on what the relationship itself needs in order to heal and move forward.
I feel privileged to do this work. It requires depth, steadiness and focus to hold two people equally and create a space where both parties feel safe, listened to and respected.
Before beginning couples work together, I ask each partner to attend an individual consultation session separately.
This helps me gain a clearer understanding of each person’s experience, perspective and concerns before bringing you together for joint sessions.
These initial sessions are not about taking sides, but about creating a balanced, respectful and informed foundation for the work ahead.
Joint sessions are then held together in 90-minute appointments, allowing enough time for both people to be heard and for meaningful next steps to be explored.
Initial individual consultations (90 minutes) — £100 per person
Ongoing couples sessions (90 minutes) — £125
Executive Coaching
Alongside counselling and coaching, I also work with leaders, business owners and professionals.
Executive coaching can be particularly valuable when the personal and professional begin to overlap — confidence, visibility, communication, leadership pressure, difficult relationships at work or uncertainty about the next chapter.
My background includes an ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching alongside many years working professionally in communication, facilitation and performance.
I offer people something many rarely give themselves — uninterrupted time and space to really think and hear their own deeper knowing.
When that happens, confidence often begins to return naturally and work starts moving to another level.
Executive coaching begins with a longer strategy session designed to explore your professional goals, current challenges, leadership style and areas for development in greater depth.
This creates a strong foundation for focused and meaningful coaching work moving forward.
Ongoing sessions are approximately 55 minutes and are tailored to support clarity, confidence, communication, decision-making and sustainable professional growth.
Initial strategy session (90 minutes) — £145
Ongoing executive coaching sessions (55 minutes) — £95

About Elizabeth
I am a counsellor, coach and executive coach based in Chester. I work with people either online or from my private home office.
Alongside my professional training, I have maintained a meditation practice for more than 25 years, which continues to shape the way I work with people. I believe it helps me stay present, grounded and able to listen deeply.
My approach is down to earth, intuitive and supportive. When I work with people, I listen carefully and with great respect. My job is to help people feel better, think more clearly and move forward with greater confidence.
Sometimes the past needs attention and understanding, but the focus of this work is helping you move forward and feel better in your life now.
Clients often tell me they arrive feeling heavy and leave feeling lighter. This is serious work, but that does not mean there cannot be warmth, humour and relief along the way.
I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard and able to speak openly without fear of judgement. Together, we work towards helping you feel more like yourself again.
Let’s TalkQuestions & Answers
Why is the first session longer?
The initial session allows more time to understand your current situation, personal history, goals and the areas you would like support with. This helps create a clearer foundation for the work moving forward.
Why do couples attend separate consultations first?
Meeting separately first helps create a balanced understanding of each person’s experience and perspective before beginning joint work together. These sessions are not about taking sides, but about creating a thoughtful and informed starting point.
Do you offer evening appointments?
Limited evening appointments are occasionally available by prior arrangement. Due to limited availability and high demand, evening appointments are charged at a higher fee and may involve a waiting list.
Are sessions available online?
Yes. Sessions are available both online via Zoom and in person in Chester.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people come for short-term focused work, while others prefer longer-term support and personal development. We review the process together as we go.
Ready to begin?
You do not need to know exactly what to say.
You only need to know that something feels ready to be looked at.
